Our Safeguarding Staff

Delaware Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The Health and Safety of all children is paramount.

Parents and carers expect the school to provide a safe, secure and caring environment in which children can flourish.

To meet this expectation, the school implements a wide range of measures and policies, including the School’s Safeguarding and Child Protection policy. Details of these can be found in policy section on the school website.

We are committed to inspiring, challenging and safeguarding all our pupils. This is best achieved when we work together towards success.

At Delaware Primary Academy, the context of the school means that staff training considers safeguarding children in rural areas, understanding concerns that may be raised right from Nursery age and involves working very closely with other agencies such as Early Help Hub and Police. Staff are vigilant when visitors arrive and of security measures relevant to the school's physical layout and location. Delaware has a split site for Year 5 and Year 6 at Gunnislake. Both provisions have Level 3 safeguarding trained staff and share key information to ensure all children are on the correct site at the correct time. All visitors MUST report to the  school to sign in.
