Welcome back to all of our pupils. Nursery, Reception, Y1, Y2 , Y3 and Y4 will be taught at the Delaware base. Y5 and Y6 will be taught at the Gunnislake base.
I want to continue to thank parents and children for adapting so well to these new circumstances. As you may have already guessed the Government advice has not changed with regards to 'bubbles' and school organisation so the current organisational procedures and use of both school bases will remain in place after half term.
I am delighted to share the good news that Mrs Marshall is expecting her third child (Some of you who frequent the Delaware base will have noticed this.) She is taking advice from her midwife and will not be returning to school during the second half of term- I know that you will wish her the very best for the arrival of baby Marshall in January. We are currently in the process of recruiting a replacement and I will let you know as soon as I know who this is!
We would welcome your feedback on the introduction of the new PSHE and RSE curriculum that has just been launched across the trust. As the DfE stated in July “Today’s children and young people are growing up in an increasingly complex world and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also challenges and risks. In this environment, children and young people need to know how to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in a positive way. (Gavin Williamson Secretary of State for Education). Please use the form on the website to leave feedback by the 22nd October. You can find the survey in the policies section under PSHE/SRE.
A reminder that half term is from 26th October to 30th October and the school will not be open for pupils on Monday 2nd November as this is an INSET day.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website. We hope that you will enjoy the opportunity to discover more about our school, nursery, wonderful staff and amazing children!
At Delaware we strive, in partnership with parents and carers, to offer our pupils a high standard of education which will help each child to reach their full potential. Our aim is to nurture the children in our care, providing them with safe but exciting environments and opportunities where they can develop a life-long love of learning. Our learning environments are bright, colourful and interactive and the pupils at Delaware are proud to share their learning and achievements. We accept children from aged 2 upwards. We have a beautiful nursery open from 7.15am – 6.00pm with funded/non funded sessions available.
Our school motto is summed up in three simple words which came about following discussions with the children about their learning. These are: Believe. Achieve. Enjoy. They sum up perfectly the positive mindset which we pride ourselves on- 'I can't do it' is NOT accepted at Delaware- it is corrected to 'I can't do it - YET!'
Learning at Delaware is FUN! We plan for rich and memorable learning opportunities for our pupils and work in close partnership with other schools in our neighbourhood and our Bridge family of schools. We became a part of the Bridge Schools Trust in December 2015 and are embracing the additional learning opportunities that this has provided.
We have developed ways of working so that there is a consistent approach across all classes. Please take a moment to read our GOOD Ofsted report from September 2018. My favourite quote is “Pupils love to learn and are truly valued at Delaware Primary Academy”.
We pride ourselves on being a happy, inclusive school- please visit to see what we have to offer you and your children. You are sure to receive a warm welcome!
