All Bridge Schools are now closed. We are operating a reduced service only for children of key workers and vulnerable groups.
I cannot believe that we have reached the end of the second week of lockdown already. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for engaging so well with the home learning which has been set by the teachers. Please do not hesitate to give us a call if we can assist you any further e.g. with printing sheets or providing paper. This situation is still very new and different for us in school and we are trying to make remote learning as effective for your children and as stress free for yourselves as parents! I am really delighted with the way in which you and your children have engaged with the learning activities. I feel that there are plenty of activities to keep the children busy but, by recording lessons/directing you to pre-recorded lessons, there is a degree of flexibility to the day. I feel that this is particularly important if there are multiple children in the home with limited devices.
We are monitoring the engagement with the learning and will contact you if there are any concerns or to offer help.
Throughout the Lockdown, pupils are still able to receive Headteacher's awards virtually. Below this post I have posted some photographs of this week's recipients- they can collect their certificate and reward from the treasure chest when they return to school in person.
We have also had some brilliant learning from the key worker children in school and many other Headteacher awards have been presented too- Stephen, Ivy, George, Cara , Imogen (x3), Ben, Zack, Liam, Joe and Isla (apologies if I have forgotten anyone!)
I wish you all a safe weekend and will see some of you next week.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website. We hope that you will enjoy the opportunity to discover more about our school, nursery, wonderful staff and amazing children!
At Delaware we strive, in partnership with parents and carers, to offer our pupils a high standard of education which will help each child to reach their full potential. Our aim is to nurture the children in our care, providing them with safe but exciting environments and opportunities where they can develop a life-long love of learning. Our learning environments are bright, colourful and interactive and the pupils at Delaware are proud to share their learning and achievements. We accept children from aged 2 upwards. We have a beautiful nursery open from 7.15am – 6.00pm with funded/non funded sessions available.
Our school motto is summed up in three simple words which came about following discussions with the children about their learning. These are: Believe. Achieve. Enjoy. They sum up perfectly the positive mindset which we pride ourselves on- 'I can't do it' is NOT accepted at Delaware- it is corrected to 'I can't do it - YET!'
Learning at Delaware is FUN! We plan for rich and memorable learning opportunities for our pupils and work in close partnership with other schools in our neighbourhood and our Bridge family of schools. We became a part of the Bridge Schools Trust in December 2015 and are embracing the additional learning opportunities that this has provided.
We have developed ways of working so that there is a consistent approach across all classes. Please take a moment to read our GOOD Ofsted report from September 2018. My favourite quote is “Pupils love to learn and are truly valued at Delaware Primary Academy”.
We pride ourselves on being a happy, inclusive school- please visit to see what we have to offer you and your children. You are sure to receive a warm welcome!
